This training has been developed by Glasgow Association for Mental Health on behalf of the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership, in partnership with Pure Potential Scotland and Third Sector Lab. The materials have been co-designed with 71 members of staff and 18 individuals with lived experience, and the voices of lived experience feature prominently throughout.
The aim of the programme is to ensure that all staff, supporters and volunteers who may come into contact with people bereaved by suicide have an understanding of the complex nature and impact of suicide bereavement. The training will support participants to provide a compassionate and empathetic response, while also recognising the importance of their own wellbeing when undertaking this work.
