About the training
Multi-agency training is central in supporting professionals to understand their roles, responsibilities, the procedures of each agency involved in public protection. It also helps develop a shared understanding of assessment and decision-making practices.
The multi-agency training programme is coordinated and developed by the Dumfries and Galloway Public Protection Learning and Development Subcommittee.
How training is delivered
We deliver training either online or face-to-face. You should consider this when booking onto any courses.
If your training is online this may make it more difficult for you to discuss any concerns following the training event with the facilitator in the traditional way.
If you have any concerns following the event and we will try to connect you with the facilitator or a relevant professional to deal with your concerns.
During training, please be mindful that the content of some courses can be very emotive.
Our training charter
Our training charter outlines the obligations of the partnership, member agencies and all of our staff, with clear expectations for
managerial accountability and protocols to ensure we maximise all learning opportunities within available resources. The overarching aim is to have all of our staff trained and developed to support and protect those most at risk in our communities.
Public Protection Learning and Development Strategy
This multi-agency Public Protection Learning and Development Strategy sets out the framework and approach to delivering our multi-agency learning and development opportunities for all practitioners and managers, across all agencies and the third sector within Dumfries and Galloway.
