A self-evaluation can help your organisation identify skills, process gaps and operational processes that would benefit from lived experience.
A work plan will help you map out your:
- service aims
- service outcome
- what you'll do
- who will lead it
How to plan for an evaluation
We have created a self-evaluation and work plan example to help you plan your own.
[Self evaluation and work plan example]
An example of an evaluation
Subject: Service engagement with people who use our services.
How we are doing: We currently do not have systems in place to gather the views and experiences of people who use our services. We have some comments made sporadically but they are not recorded, analysed or reported on, so we are unaware of how well we are doing or not doing.
How do we know: We have no current qualitative or quantitative data to inform us of the experience of people who use our services.
What we are going to do now: Complete a full PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act), improvement plan to establish mechanisms to systematically gather, analyse and report on how well our service delivery meets the needs of the people who use our service. We will also create KPI's to measure our success.
After you have completed the evaluation
After completing a self-evaluation, you need to make sure you have measures in place so you gather evidence on quality assurance and improvement to services.
